How to use Canva Pro to quickly remove the background on your images

I usually use a professional service to do most of my photo processing for when I need something that looks great. I especially need it for when I need a piece of jewelry to be shown in both gold and silver without having to make both pieces. It’s a process called color masking and it can be done in Photoshop, but I’m not very good at it so I always send it out to Emma Pompeii for that and other retouching.

But sometimes I just need to get the white background into my photos so that I can get them up onto my website quickly and worry about the color masking later.

When you need the images fast, but not perfect

For that I use a service called Canva Pro. Canva is a really great online platform for photo editing, for planning your content calendar, for formatting images across multiple social media platforms and for creating dynamic images for Pinterest

Recently they developed a way to quickly remove the background and I’ve been playing around with it. I wanted to share with you just how easy it is to get a background removed on an image in just a matter of a few minutes.

Here are all the steps to remove the background using Canva Pro:

1. Upload your image to Canva

2. Add your image to a template.

3. Tap “Edit Image”

4. Select Background Remover

5. Adjust the amount of removal using the Erase or Restore tools.

6. Hit “Apply”

7. That’s it! Title your image and either download it or let autosave save it to your Canva account
